Our rapping experience

Hello...We are Tonia & Ivan... we want to tell you our rapping experience... Same day ago we wrote a beautiful rap song with Daniel... "IF YOU WANT SOMETHING".In the morning we went to a primary school and we sang the song to the children.. the same day we went to a professional recording studio and we recorded the song!!! we were very excited because that was the first time that we had gone to a recording studio. After we had recorded the CD the producer gave us it. We came back to school and we listened the our song with other students. We were very shy because everybody listened to our voices. now we are going to make a video for this song, we hope that we will enjoy ourselves again! This was a special experience because we think that it will be difficult to do this it again!!!

This week we have a lot of things to do:

Paola and Raffaella will write a report on our three weeks work here....

Jenny's group has to write up statistics, scientific findings and conclusions about its part of the project, which was asking questions people about the tale of "the ant ant the grasshopper" ...

Ivan's group is writing about the phases of the creative process involved in song writing and recording in a professional recording studio and also performing and presenting the song in a local primary school.

We might also be recording our song and filming it to make a 'music video' and putting together a play with the lessons from the Ant and the Grasshopper.


The school has also organized the "Sports Afternoon" next Tuesday in University Parks:
we can play football, frisbee, rounders, poi and jugging and so on...

On Thursday 15th we have the table tennis tournament...

A very busy week is waiting for us and we're sure it 'll be very exciting like the two before.... :)

Our travel to Stonehenge

Hello guys,
we are Alessandro, Rosario and Gerardina, on Saturday morning we and our group went to Stonehenge. We took the bus from Oxford at about 8 o'clock opposite the Greens' Cafe and we arrived at about 10 o'clock to Stonehenge. When we arrived we were very excited because it was the first time that we went there.
Stonehenge is a very old and misterious place. Stonehenge is composed of earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones. Archaeologists believe that the standing stones were erected around 2200 BC and the surrounding circular earth bank and ditch, which constitute the earliest phase of the monument, have been dated to about 3100 BC. The site and its surroundings were added to the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1986 in a co-listing with Avebury henge monument, and it is also a legally protected Scheduled Ancient Monument. There are a lot of legends about Stonehenge. One of these is that "the Devil bought the stones from a woman in Ireland, wrapped them up, and brought them to Salisbury plain. One of the stones fell into the Avon, the rest were carried to the plain. The Devil then cried out, "No-one will ever find out how these stones came here!" A friar replied, "That’s what you think!," whereupon the Devil threw one of the stones at him and struck him on the heel. The stone stuck in the ground and is still there."

After Stonehenge, we went to Salisbury, a nice town, famous for its cathedral The Cathedral contains the world's oldest working clock and has one of the four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta (all four original copies are in Britain). It is really interesting!!!

The recording studio

HI..!! We are Angelica,Ivan and Paola ...Today we are going to talk about what we did yesterday at the recording studio..! We went there with Daniel and we met Nick, one of his friends. We were very excited becouse that was the first time that we went in a recording studio..!!
Then, we started to record our song in a soundproof room. We went in this room one group at a time to record the song..!! Before we starting to sing, each of us said a phrase that we liked.!! Than we chose the name of the group: "11 ANGELS"
The phrases that we said are:

THE PRIMARY SCHOOL VISIT

.....Hello..... We are Roberta & Rosalba... :-) :-) Today we are talking to you about the visit that we did yesterday to the primary school. We arrived there at 10 o'clock and we went into the gym's school. After 5 minutes the children arrived, they were all pretty and very interesting. Than Jenny and Lucia showed our project and we sing 2songs that we had wrote whit Daniel.... The first time the children didn't sing but the second time they sang with us while daniel played the guitar.. We talked together the children about the fabule that they know, we did some questions and they were very happy to interact with us.... In the end we sang an other time the song all together.. We enjoyed a lot our-selves because we love to stay with them..

Worcesater Colleges

Yesterday afternoon,we visited the Worcester College.

Suzette told us that every colleges had a chapel, quadrangle, choir etcc...

In fact, we saw the chapel that had organic, mosaic and stained glass windows with Jesus Christ pictures. Then we saw a man cutting the grass in a lawn. We also saw the lake,the island, the bridge and the beautiful ducks and the blackbirds. The colleges gate was made up of metal and wood. There were also the plane trees, the ivy etcc...

We also saw a pavillion the place where students meet friends or other students.

Students were studying, eating and also sunbathing. We enjoyed a lot infact we took a picture all together.

Our week-end

Good morning, we are Ivan and Roberta....like always... :-) :-)
We want to tell you how we have spent our week-end. On saturday we didn't go to school and so we got up late. We met our friends at midday and we decided to go to the botley park. We bought something to eat and to drink and we waited the bus, so we arrived at the park at half past one. The weather was sunny all day and so we enjoyed a lot ourselves: we danced and played football. We stayed there until 18 o' clock . We came back home and about half past 20 we went out and we met opposite the Mc donald's. We went to drink something to the pub because the day after we had to go to London. We arrived at home at half past ten. It was a wonderful day......

Hello guys........
How are you? I hope you're fine.
This morning, we went out with Daniel to do some interviews, in fact he took us out to Harvey's coffee shop.
We met a lot of people and we stopped them one by one and we asked them some questions like if they knew the story about the ant and the grasshopper, what do they think about that etc.....
Some of them knew the story so they answered my questions. In fact they think that the story was very good for children and encourages them to work hard.
A lot of people think that today most young people are like the grasshopper because they are lazy and also they don't want to do anything. They also think that the story giving a good lesson especially for young people. A lot of them had ever been in that situation and they felt happy especially proud of themselves.

After 5 days

Today 02 May 2008 :-)

Hi friends.... We are Roberta, Ivan and Rosalba. . . . . :-)
At the moment we are at school we are creating our blog, with our photos and our impressions... so everyone can visit it. . . . we were divided in 3 groups. . . . the first one is going out to do some interviews to the people, the second one is in the student's room, they are writing songs and story and our group is creating a blog. . . . . After the school we are going to go to the park near the school to stay all together and eat something. . . and this evening we are going out and we hope that we will enjoy ourselves.
This week-end we are going to London to visit that wonderful city and to buy presents for our friends and relatives..... In a few days we will up date our blog about how have we spent our week-end. Bye guys :-* See you soon

OUR PROJECT

Hello we are Rosalba and Angelica....

We are divided in two groups: Giulia's group and Angela's group.....

The first group have to write a story of two girls, one is rich and the other is poor.. The first girl spent a lot of money buying clothes and she doesn't study a lot.. While the second girl likes tudying and in the afternoon works in a shop where the rich girl goes there to buy a lot of clothes and accessories..

While the second group are writing two songs one about the ant and grosshopper that is a traditional song and the other about the sotry of the rich and poor's girls so that is a modern version...

But we have to finsh this project..

interview

hello we are jenny, rosalia, mariangela, gerardina, rosario e alessandro.

Today we did some street interviews but a lot of people were very busy so they didn`t want to answer our questions, because they hate wasting time.
In fact,when we asked some questions a lot of people didn`t know the story about the ant and the grasshopper. However most of them knew " the hare and the tortoise".
Some of them hated reading because they think it's very boring. In fact they read only magazines and newspapers.
I think a lot of them are very kind and generous because they told me if someone was in trouble or needed help, they would help them because helping makes them happy and also proud of themselves.
A lot of people maybe 65% said that young people are like the grasshopper because they are lazy and they don't want to do anything.
Well, we are going to continue our interviews and we hope that we will find out more interesting information.
In fact, this day we enjoyed ourselves a lot and we also think that doing this project is funny and interesting.

THE DAY AT SCHOOL

Hello everybody...!!! we are Rita and Paola the best in the world..!!

Today we are going to tell you how we spend our day at school.!
The first day we were very happy because for us it was our first time that we went to Oxford..
When we arrived at school we met our new teachers: Suzette and Jackie. They are very funny!!
We were separated in different groups and we did a test. Around eleven o'clock we had a break for about half hour, and we ate our lunch togheter.!!
In the afternoon we went with our teacher to visit some colleges.!!
The following day we met Daniel and with him we wrote a song about the" Ant and the grashopper" and we also watched the video that we made in italy..!!

Our first week-end in Oxford

Hi people!!!! We are Dorina & Emilio and this is our first week-end.

Our english school will organize a day trip to London on Sunday, we are very excited to visit one of the most important European cities .

We are visiting the city with a guided tour.

We are starting this trip at 09.00 a.m. and we will arrive to London at 11.00 a.m.

We are visiting these place:

Trafalgar Square;
St. James' Park;

Buckingham Palace;

St. James' Palace;

Big Ben;

Westminster Abbey;

Houses of Parliament;

Downing Street.

In the afternoon we will be able to walk alongside the Thames and after visit the Tate Modern Gallery.

Introdution our project

Hello guys we are Lucia e Pietro and we are going to introduce you
our project.......
We want to extend our first project with internet research and photos. We also want to interview people in Oxford with video cameras or audio equipment about shopping and how much all kinds of people are influenced by advertising.
Another group of us have created a modern fable about two girls, the first,Giulia, is rich and she spends a lot of her money buying clothes, shoes and accessories in the most expensive shops of the city; while the other one, Erika, is very poor and studies very hard, so to continue the school she has to work in a shop in a shopping centre.These two girls with two different life styles will meet and..............................

SOCIAL LIFE

Hello everybody... we are Raffaella and Elio

Today we tell you how we spend the evening in Oxford.

We go out at 8 o`clock and we usually meet in front of "MC DONALD`S" then we go to the pub to drink. In Oxford we always take the bus while in Italy we don`t take any. In the evening in Oxford there are a lot of people and a lot of entertainment for young people while in our village there aren`t because it is small. Yesterday evening we meet other italian`teenagers and whit them we went to the disco pub and all togheter danced and drunk until midnight.
